BEING brutally honest, Chris Jericho has nothing left to achieve in pro-wrestling.

World championships in singles and tag wrestling, thousands of high class matches on many continents, jobbing to Rey Mysterio in China last week… only the inevitable Hall of Fame seat is absent. With his WWE contract up in a month or two, the multifaceted legend is switching his attention to music once again with feisty rock merchants Fozzy for the biggest UK swing of his career in October. FT caught up with Jericho for an exclusive chat this week, and he’s not sweating over his wrestling career – he has no need, he tells me.

“I’m not one of those people who worries about my position. I’m never going to lose my spot. I could work the opening match every night and still be a star.”

The influx of youth via the Nexus angle seems to have turned heads, and Jericho is philosophical about the young blood.

“It’s just the way it is – most of the guys in WWE are young guys and green. It’s not like it used to be. I spent nine years going all round the place perfecting my craft – now it’s nine months. The brilliant thing about the Nexus angle is that we’re taking seven guys who have not done a thing and thrown them into the hottest angle they may ever be involved in. You’ve got to take what you have and work with it. There simply aren’t guys who’ve been in Japan, Mexico or Europe any more. That’s not to say it’s better or worse, it’s just the way it is.”

Fozzy’s Chasing The Grail album will get an airing on the road.

He told me: “I’ve been a musician a lot longer than a wrestler. When I started wrestling I was recording demos. It’s been part of my life since pre-teen. I’ve been able to do the two things and both have been successful. Now I want to take time to do a proper tour. It’s fun!”

Chris revealed last night on Twitter that he was once again asked to be on Dancing with the Stars but it didn’t work out for him. That’s too bad, I would love to have seen Chris face off against Hasselhoff!

Now that the new cast has been announced I can tell u that i was asked to be a part of DWTS this season. Didn’t work out scheduling wise. But I hope I can be a part of DWTS in the very near future. Until then…go Situation!!

Chris Jericho is in the interview area with Josh Mathews. He asks Josh what the future holds for him. Chris asks if people think it is a gimmick when he says that he is the best in the world. He says it because it is true. Jericho says that he is going to take matters into his own hands. He had an epiphany that he is the greatest performer. If he does not win the WWE Title at Night of Champions, it will be the last you see of Chris Jericho in the WWE. Josh mentions that Jericho has been kicked out of the WWE a dozen times. Jericho says that he wants Josh to see what he is going to do to prove that he is the best in the world at what he does.

Jericho and Cena have some words as Jericho tells John that he is starting. He will face Michael Tarver. They circle around the ring and then they lock up in the 900th main event on Raw. Jericho decides to leave the ring and he thinks about going back into the ring, but he walks to the back and gets eliminated.

Tonight on Raw Chris Jericho said that if he didn’t win the title at Night of Champions, he would leave WWE. Both Wrestling Observer & PWInsider are reporting that Jericho hasn’t signed a new deal with WWE & his current deal expires in a few weeks. He’s scheduled to go on tour with Fozzy in October so either way he’ll be taking at least a few weeks off even if he does re-sign with the company.

The main event for tonight’s Raw, the 900th episode, will be a 5-on-5 elimination match with Sheamus, John Cena, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho and Edge vs. The Nexus team of Wade Barrett, David Otunga, Heath Slater, Michael Tarver and Justin Gabriel.
